Principal Bios

Kenneth Lin

Kenneth has over 12 years of investment experience and brings a highly analytical and ethical perspective to real estate investing. He possesses extensive knowledge in a wide array of investment matters with a particular focus on project feasibility, capital markets, development, and financial reporting. Prior to founding Satus Group, Mr. Lin served as Chief Financial Officer of SunGreen Systems, a solar power developer in Los Angeles focused on commercial-scale solar energy systems. During his tenure at SunGreen, Mr. Lin oversaw project and corporate finance, financial reporting, and management of shareholder relationships. He was an integral part of a management team that led the company to a Top 200 ranking amongst national solar developers in 2013 and 2014, and a Top 100 ranking in 2015. Prior to SunGreen, Mr. Lin served as an Asset Manager at Lindom Company, a full-service real estate firm, where he managed a $120M portfolio of real estate investments and successfully led over $50M in development and acquisition projects. Kenneth earned a B.S. degree in Atmospheric Science from UCLA, and an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.

John Deacon, CFA

John has spent the entirety of his career in investment management. He believes that successful investment in the long-term requires one to always act as an investor, not as a speculator. Prior to founding Satus Group, John was a partner at the Pasadena-based real estate development firm, Lindom Company, where he headed the company's investment management and strategy initiatives as well as deal structuring and partnership reporting. Before joining Lindom, John served as an equity analyst and investment advisor at the Los Angeles-based hedge fund, Galileo Partners, LLC. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles. John received his B.A. Magna Cum Laude from the University of California at San Diego with majors in Economics and Philosophy.
